Heating & Cooling Tips for Your Home

• Change your filters often.
  Filters are meant to collect particles that might interfere with how the unit operates. Over time, the filter will become so clogged, it can keep the unit from running efficiently.

• Change the batteries in your smoke detector and carbon monoxide detector.
  By not raising an alarm when smoke or carbon monoxide is in your home, not only could your life be in danger, but your HVAC unit(s) may be at risk, too.

• Check and clean your chimney regularly.
  Any build-up in your chimney can affect the efficiency of your furnace and/or hot water tank. More importantly, it could put you and your family in danger due to the potential risk of carbon monoxide (CO) not being properly ventilated.

• Change your humidifier pad at least every heating season.

• Keep your ducts in a row!
  If you or someone in your home suffers from allergies, asthma or severe sinus issues, PLEASE DO NOT ignore your ducts. They are vital to your health and the indoor air pollution you and your family are exposed to daily. We specialize in cleaning ducts and the air you breathe in your home.

• Winterize your home!
  One expensive mistake is not making sure your home is ready for the brutal days of winter. If your home/property is vacant (because you are selling or are on vacation, etc.), please be sure to have the cold side of all your sinks/faucets running (at least a consistent drip). Why? If for any reason your heating unit stops working, this will hopefully help prevent lots of costly damage to your home (i.e., frozen and/or bursting pipes, etc.).
